I have always loved the Nuthatch. It is the only bird that can walk or hop head-first down a tree trunk. They are handsome birds, with their steely blue-grey colouring and streamlined profile. They can be rather bold and friendly, and will even come to your hand for a snack of bird seed. Always a joy to see on local Ontario hikes.
